How to knock, the right way.
Target companies
A short list in three tiers: dream, strong fit, and solid backup. Note recent news and where each is growing.
Find the hiring leader
Use the company’s LinkedIn People tab to find the person the role reports to, plus a recruiter and a peer in the function.
LinkedIn plus a short email
A brief connection note, then a short, value-first message. Apply too: the application is your ticket in.
Follow up
Add something useful each time, like an observation about their news or a relevant win. Stay kind, never pushy.
Get referrals
Ask people who know you, and people who said “not now,” who else you should talk to.
Fill in the blanks. Then make it yours.
Type a few details and the four templates update as you go. Everything stays in your browser. Nothing is sent or saved.
LinkedIn connection note
Short email to the hiring leader
Follow-up, about a week later
Referral ask
A confidential conversation about your next leadership role.
HireDirectNow recruits leaders nationwide. If you’d like to talk, share your resume. No cost to you, ever.
